Lexus New LX Concept Comes with a Vanity and Dressing Suite

Lexus knows that sometimes there’s just not enough time to get ready.
That’s why the Japanese luxury marque wants to help you take your wardrobe on the road. The company has just unveiled a new concept called the Glam LX that has everything you need to get ready for a night on the town.
Lexus has shown a willingness to have fun with its SUVs in recent years. Earlier this year, it reimagined the LX as the ultimate beach cruiser, and last year, it stuffed a full-size pizza oven into the back of the GX. But neither of those concepts can compare to the Glam LX, which comes with all the beauty and fashion features needed to transform the vehicle into what the brand calls a “full-service glam suite.”

The concept, which was built in collaboration with Complete Customs, is as striking as it comes. The entire exterior is enveloped in a head-turning pearl symphony chameleon wrap, adorned with crystal-faceted badging, including a sparkling rendition of the Lexus badge.
The interior is just as dazzling. The cabin is covered in pink and white stitched leather, with mohair, silk, and stone inlay accents. What really sets this LX apart from the pack is the accessories, tough. The front passenger seat has its own manicure station equipped with UV/LED lighting for quick drying, while the back features a table for your cosmetics and a full-width, drop-down Robern illuminate mirror for makeup application. The entire rear cargo area, meanwhile, has been given over to a dressing suite. French doors open to reveal an LED-lit clothing rack, acrylic drawers, and a changing area with a privacy screen. There’s also another illuminated vanity and pull-out chairs in case you need a seat while getting ready.

Lexus’s press release is devoid of mechanical details, but the LX is a pretty capable SUV. It’s powered by a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 mated to a 10-speed automatic that routes 409 hp and 479 ft lbs of torque to all four wheels. The vehicle can accelerate from zero to 60 in just over six seconds and tow up to 8,000 pounds.
Like Lexus’s other recent SUV concepts, the Glam LX is unlikely to ever go into production. Instead, the vehicle is an attempt to show off just how much the vehicle and its smaller sibling, the GX, can be customized. The brand does plan to show off the Glam LX at a series of marketing events across the U.S. this fall, though.
