Arcadia’s New 78-Foot Yacht Can Be Anchored in Any Bay or Cove

Arcadia Yachts wants to help seafarers cruise wherever they please.
The Italian shipyard has unveiled a new model based on a new concept of “cruising freedom.” The A80new complies with the strictest anchoring regulations, meaning it can be anchored in any bay or cove without damaging the natural environment, according to Arcadia. The 78-footer, which will be presented at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, also features solar panels that can generate about 4.5 kWh of clean, green energy that can be stored in batteries and used to power the hotel load.
Aside from the cruising freedom it provides, the A80new offers a large and luxurious interior. It is the first raised pilot house (RPH) yacht that Arcadia has built, with a fresh deck configuration and a distinctive wide body that creates extra space onboard.
Arcadia says the A80new also showcases several features never before seen on a vessel of this size, including a primary suite on the main deck, two crew cabins in the bow, five guest cabins throughout, and the most spacious upper deck in the category. It incorporates more familiar elements, too, such as a beach area with side wings and a swim platform.

The bright and airy living quarters are adorned with rich natural wood, elegant lighting fixtures, and chic furniture. The main salon is designed for entertaining, with a long 10-seat table and two large sofas. Seafarers can also wine and dine on the nearly 860-square-foot upper deck.
Powered by two Volvo Penta IPS engines, the A80new has a cruising speed of between 16 and 18 knots and a max speed of between 19 and 21 knots. That propulsion system means it is not entirely emissions-free, but is certainly more environmentally friendly than other 78-footers on the market.

The A80new isn’t the only yacht Arcadia is showing off at Cannes. The yard is displaying three other models, including the A96new, the Sherpa 60, and the Sherpa 80. The A96new features a shallow draught and compact engines, meaning the 98-footer can traverse practically any waters. Cruising freedom, indeed.
Running from September 9 to 17, the Cannes Yachting Festival is set to feature over 500 exhibitors and showcase nearly 700 yachts.
