Rod Stewart to Play Coveted Legends Slot

Rod Stewart will grace the Glastonbury stage once again.

The rock star will play the legends slot at next year’s event, he has confirmed, 23 years after his last appearance at the U.K.’s biggest music festival.

Stewart — one of the best-selling artists of all time with hits like “Maggie May” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” — will follow in the footsteps of Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Kylie Minogue by taking the coveted Sunday slot in late June.

The 79-year-old, who has sold over 120 million records worldwide, said on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday: “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing @glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”

The Sunday afternoon slot always draws one of the biggest audiences at the fest as Stewart becomes the first artist to have headlined Glastonbury and been given legends billing.

He is the first act confirmed for Glastonbury 2025. Among the rumored lineup at Somerset’s Worthy Farm are Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, Eminem, Harry Styles and Charli XCX.

Dua Lipa and SZA headlined this year alongside Coldplay (who are no strangers to Glastonbury — Chris Martin’s band has performed a record-breaking six times).

Tickets have already sold out, though a limited selection will go up for sale in January and no doubt be snapped up fast.
