Someone Turned a Lamborghini Diablo Into a ‘Beast’

One Japanese tuner has taken it upon itself to outdo Lamborghini.

Fukushima-based Value Progress has just unveiled a ridiculous one-off build called the Beast that is based on the defining Raging Bull of the 1990s, the Diablo. The shop says it wanted to design a vehicle that would “surprise” people and it’s safe to say that the heavily modified supercar doing just that.

Every year tuners like Mansory and Brabus release garish reworkings of some of the most coveted cars on the planet. But their builds, as over-the-top as they may be, still look like the vehicle they’re based on, whereas Value Progress’s car looks like something completely different thanks to its Bōsōzoku makeover. We’d be willing to bet that even the most diehard Lamborghini enthusiast would struggle to identify the Diablo as the car beneath the Beast’s sculpted exterior.

The shop has taken the original Lambo’s already bold design and thrown it into a blender. Every element and surface has been altered with some sort of ornamentation, be it a flick, strake, or a gigantic wing. This resulting vehicle looks like a supercar as seen through the eyes of a hyperactive kindergartner especially its nightmarish rear end.  Unsurprisingly, the Beast doesn’t share a single body panel with the Diablo, according to CarScoops. In fact, the only original exterior part is the windshield.

All these changes mean that the Beast is significantly larger than the car it is based on. The Diablo already had a sizable footprint, but thanks to all of Value Progress’s work it is now more than a 14 inches wider (for a total of 95 inches) and 22 inches longer (198 inches). Highlighting the changes is an Italian Red paint job that features gray and purple accents.

The tuner has taken a more restrained tact when it comes to the car’s mechanical bits. The Beast, like the Diablo before it, is powered by a 5.7-liter V-12 mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Value Progress doesn’t say which version of the original supercar the naturally aspirated mill was taken from, which means output could range between 485 hp and 585 hp. It’s unclear what other adjustments or modifications have been made, but the shop does say that that the vehicle features a “first-class suspension.”

The Beast made its debut earlier this month at this year’s edition of Osaka Auto Messe. It remains to be seen if the car will remain a one-off or if Value Progress intends to built more examples of its supercar.
