GCDS Links up With One Piece for an Anime Graphic Smash

Anime has long been a strong inspiration for fashion, but never more so than in the realm of streetwear. Now, with the increasing ease with which fans from all over the world can watch anime and get their hands on exclusive comics, the influence of the Japanese subculture is at an all-time high.

The latest anime-influenced collection to catch our eye is the GCDS x One Piece collaboration which is available now in GCDS stores and online.

Constituting a major part of the Italian brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 season, the GCDS x One Piece collaboration is a bold, graphic shock to the system. The loud drawings of the manga series which Eiichiro Oda created in 1997 form the central attraction of the collection, covering a range of spring/summer staples.

The collection started from GCDS Creative Director Giuliano Calza’s love of Japanese manga, with One Piece being a leading influence. Now, GCDS bowling shirts, sweats, tees, and even bodysuits are decorated with the unmistakable characters of One Piece. You’ll catch Doflamingo on a bold pink cardigan while Shirahoshi takes residence on a cropped sweatshirt and a wide-brim hat.
