Grammys 2023: Doja Cat Stuns With One other Standout Look
Just a week after sending the internet into a spin with this viral Schiaparelli moment, American rapper and singer Doja Cat had her fans gasping today as she walked the 2023 Grammy Awards red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
In a one-shouldered vinyl custom gown and gloves by Versace – ruched at the shoulder, cinched at the waist – Doja Cat’s slippery look slinked atop the red carpet. Her black pixie crop and feline flick on her eyes were the deft work of hairstylist JStayReady and makeup artist Ernesto Casillas respectively. Tonight, the 27-year-old’s track “Woman” is nominated for Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. Her song, “Vegas,” (which was part of Baz Luhrmann’s spangly Oscar-nominated movie Elvis) is nominated for Best Rap Performance. And her collaboration with Post Malone, “I Like You (A Happier Song),” is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Doja Cat does have some competition in the Record Of The Year category. Nomination include: “Don’t Shut Me Down,” Abba, “Easy on Me,” Adele, “Break My Soul,” Beyoncé, “Good Morning Gorgeous,” Mary J. Blige, “You and Me on the Rock,” Brandi Carlile featuring Lucius, “Bad Habit,” Steve Lacy, “The Heart Part 5,” Kendrick Lamar, “About Damn Time,” Lizzo, and “As It Was,” Harry Styles.
“MAJOR gorgeousness,” designer Donatella Versace commented on Doja Cat’s Instagram who posted a series of architecturally interesting poses.

The look is decidedly low key when compared to the aforementioned Schiaparelli moment at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Doja Cat (real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini) was almost unrecognisable when she arrived at the House’s Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture show at the Petit Palais laden in over 30,000 Swarovski crystals. Celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath applied crystals to the singer’s face and body, including her ears, eyelids, and nails. It was spectacular! See more here.
Doja Cat has won one Grammy and has been nominated 10 times in the past.
