Inside Princess Iman’s “Up to date But Timeless” Dior Marriage ceremony Gown
HRH Princess Iman bint Abdullah II was a picture of bridal beauty when she said “I do” to Jameel Alexander Thermiotis during their royal nuptials on Sunday, the 12th of March. The Princess of Jordan entrusted Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of Dior, to design a custom Dior wedding gown for the occasion, which took place at Beit Al Urdun in Amman, Jordan.
“Contemporary yet timeless” underscored Maria Grazia Chiuri’s design for Princess Iman’s wedding dress. In an official Instagram post, the French Fashion house shared that its renowned creative director, “incorporated delicate floral details into the collar and sleeves.” These simple lace florals weren’t just an example of the atelier’s fine craftsmanship, but also a reflection of Princess Iman’s small bridal bouquet that consisted of simple white posies. The Dior atelier also demonstrated its world-class tailoring with the streamlined figure of the gown, sharing that, “the glowing bride beautifully embodied the irresistibly feminine silhouette for her special day.” We couldn’t agree more.
The French fashion house’s impact on wedding day fashion didn’t end with bridal wear. Her Majesty Queen Rania also wore a Christian Dior dress to Princess Iman’s wedding. The beaming mother-of-the-bride opted for a floor-length gown rendered in a silk beige material filled with elegant pleating.
The Italian fashion designer said it was an “honour” to have a hand in this historical moment for the Royal Family of Jordan and shared a heartfelt message to the couple in an official Instagram post, saying: “Congratulations to the bride and groom! I was very honoured and happy to have been part of such a special day, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.”
