Lanvin’s Curb Sneaker Is Now a Summer-Friendly Mule
If we were asked to think of the last shoe we’d wear on a hot summer’s day, it’d probably be these wild boots from Margiela. After those, though, the Lanvin Curb Sneakers would be high in the rankings. The huge, padded sneakers would surely suffocate and insulate all at once. But wait, Lanvin just chopped the backs off them? The Lanvin Curb Mule exists.
That’s right. Lanvin lopped the backs off the iconic Curb Sneakers, but that’s not the only thing that’s aligning the shoe with our summer wardrobes. Now with cutouts down each sidewall, the Lanvin Curb Mule comes with built-in ventilation.
Retaining the chunky laces and overall bulky shape of the OG Curb, the mule still plays into the ‘00s revival arena within which the Curb thrived. In fact, when the Lanvin Curb Mule is on foot, it’s almost unnoticeably different to the original sneaker. That is apart from the wearer, who certainly can tell the difference because their feet are no longer dying of thirst in a pool of their own sweat.
The Lanvin Curb Mule is another warning for us all that summer is, yet again, going to be dominated by mules. Whether it’s a classic Birkenstock Boston or something more daring like this, it’s backs out all season so get a pair in the rotation.
