If you weren’t aware, cycling is pretty big in Copenhagen. From the myriad of cyclists that swarm the Danish capital on daily commutes along the bike-friendly roads, to the hosting of the Grand Départ of the 2022 Tour de France, Copenhagen is a cyclist’s dream.
A major part of the city’s enviable bike culture over the past few years is Pas Normal Studios, a cycling brand founded by Wood Wood’s Karl Oskar-Olsen back in 2014.
Championing an active lifestyle through both its on and off-bike apparel, PNS describes itself as honoring “the great traditions of cycling” with its collections, but above all committing to the “patterns and colors that define state of the art fashion today”.
PNS’s commitment to blurring the lines between performance wear and everyday wear is obvious through the multitude of collaborations it’s been a part of to-date with the likes of Porter-Yoshida & Co. and, most recently, Pirelli.
Such has been the brand’s success, PNS recently too opened the doors to its new Copenhagen flagship store in the historic industrial area Den Røde By in Nordhavn, coinciding with day one of the Grand Départ.
The space – which boasts a state-of-the-art office with training space, gym and bike parking – is just over 1000m2, and will play host to the new PNS headquarters and offices later this month.
While cycling and the culture surrounding the sport has been a thing for a number of years already, what brands like PNS and similar are curating is on another level.
