The Epic 289-foot “Arctic” Explorer Yacht Is Now Available for Charter

You can now holiday on a true king of the seas.
Ahoy Club is offering what it says is the world’s largest explorer yacht for charter. The aptly named Arctic measures 289 feet, making it one of the longest expedition vessels on the water. (The 458-foot Solaris appears to be the world’s largest explorer, though 639-foot REV Ocean is expected to take that title upon launch in 2027.)
Built by Schichau-Unterweser, Arctic was originally an ice-class salvage tug but was converted by Australian billionaire Kerry Packer and relaunched in 1994. At that point, it was the largest converted explorer and one of the very first true expedition yachts on the seas. It cruised the globe for decades, setting a Guinness World Record for reaching the southernmost point ever navigated by a motor yacht.
Following five extensive refits, the steel-hulled behemoth is looking better than ever. The expansive interior showcases high-end materials and finishes, resulting in a superyacht feel. The living quarters feature seven suites for up to 12 guests, as well as a cinema, a gym, and other wellness facilities.
“Arctic” offers plenty of space to lounge indoors and out.

The vast exterior decks, some of the largest of any charter yacht, can be used for relaxing, entertaining, or adventure. The helideck, for example, doubles as a dance floor, yoga space, and alfresco dining area. Another highlight is the adjustable-depth pool and Jacuzzi, which can be enjoyed in all seasons.
Arctic, of course, comes with a seven-strong fleet of tenders, including a 33-foot Riva, a Seadoo Challenger, a Brigg 55, an Endeavour 42, and a Vanguard DR760, as well as a huge collection of toys to ensure plenty of fun on the waves.
The ice-class cruiser is, of course, capable of traversing the most remote locations, previously completing voyages in Antarctica, the Arctic Circle, the South Pacific, the Mediterranean, and beyond. Her long-range autonomy makes her ideal for jaunts to places like Norway, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands. She also has a long-standing crew, many of whom have been aboard for over a decade. You’ll be in excellent hands, then.
Charters will begin in Norway from November 15, with a global tour schedule to follow. To charter Arctic, contact Ahoy Club.
