GX Superyachts Just Unveiled Its Flagship 138-Foot GX40
The sustainable yachting sector just got its newest member.
The first model from GX Superyachts, a green-tech shipyard, was launched this week in Turkey. The 138-foot flagship, known as the GX40, is aiming to set a new standard for eco-conscious cruising in the sector.
That goal is shown off right as you step onboard. The new model can go up to 48 hours without emitting a single emission at anchor. While on the water, meanwhile, a cutting-edge diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system and a large-capacity lithium battery bank give the superyacht its power, with some help from the integrated solar arrays to reduce emissions as well. All that helps the GX40 to reduce its onboard electricity consumption by up to 45 percent.

The GX40 pairs that green tech with a dose of Italian design. Both its exterior and interiors were dreamed up by Italian creative Marco Casali; as a result, you can expect smooth, clean lines, plenty of natural materials, and touches of luxury throughout. Details include a fold-out beach club and a large flybridge. The flagship is prepped and ready for long-range cruising, too, meaning you can enjoy all its features on any journey.
“Ultimately, this is about more than technology; it is about well-being,” Maurizio Magri, GX Superyachts’s COO, said in a press statement. “The GX42 has been designed around the way people want to feel on board—with greater tranquility, improved comfort, and a deeper connection with the sea. A more peaceful, healthier, and more balanced onboard experience is at the heart of this new approach to responsible luxury.”
The GX40 makes its official debut later this year.

GX Superyachts is a relatively new brand on the seas. The team behind Greenline Yachts, known for its eco-conscious cruisers, founded the company back in 2024; it even unveiled its latest endeavor at the Monaco Yacht Show. Greenline was inspired to make the move, as the tale is told, when Prince Albert II of Monaco became enamored with its electric 33-foot vessel; that meeting made the shipyard want to bring its sustainable tech to the superyacht sector. As a result, the new brand will include a range of options from 78 feet to 164 feet.
You won’t have to wait too long to see the superyacht for yourself, either. In keeping with the brand’s tradition, the new GX42 will make its world debut at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, which begins on September 23.
