How the Singer Drivers Club Is Reimagining Willow Springs Raceway

Willow Springs Raceway earned a new lease on life when it became acquired by private equity firm CrossHarbor Capital Partners in 2025. Yet transforming the longest continually running racetrack in the U.S. into a genuine motorsports destination takes more than simply writing a fat check. Among the considerable track enhancements, existing structure renovations, and forthcoming amenities, one of CrossHarbor’s reimaginings is the Singer Drivers Club

While the stereotypical lure of a racetrack involves speed and competition, CrossHarbor’s ownership of the Yellowstone Club, the Montage Big Sky, and the One and Only Moonlight Basin reflects the group’s deep level of expertise in high-end hospitality. “Our experience combining membership, real estate, and hospitality is what we want to bring to motorsports with the Singer Drivers Club,” explains CrossHarbor partner Bryan Davis. “At the core, this is about elevating the experience around driving.”

The Singer Drivers Club is an invite-only opportunity for no more than 400 members. During a recent visit to Willow Springs, I was encouraged to sample some of the current offerings and learn about amenities being developed. First off: a couple of casual heats at the .625-mile Jenson Button Go Kart Track—except it wasn’t so casual because I was racing wheel-to-wheel with none other than the track’s eponymous Formula 1 driver himself. Pro tip: when a former world champion F1 driver  recedes and allows you to take the lead, he’s not doing so because you’re faster or because he’s a gentleman. (Although Jenson Button certainly is.) He’s observing your inferior driving skills like a bird of prey and waiting for the inevitable error that will enable him to slip past and leave you in the dust. As Button explains, “I grew up karting from the age of 8 to 17; it’s so cool that this is on the doorstep for us.”

I can’t ensure that Jenson Button will be on hand to race with club members at the drop of a hat, but I can attest that slicing and dicing with friends in go-karts is among the most wholesome ways to spend a morning. On a considerably grander scale is another motorized amenity included with the membership: access to the track’s fleet of Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport race cars.

The naturally aspirated, mid-engine flat-six-powered machines rev to 9,000 rpm, and are fiercely playful screamers with competition-worthy levels of grip and breathtaking brakes. My sessions at the Streets of Willow circuit were riotous, with the easily tossed-around sports cars offering driver development thanks to the pro coaches providing real-time tips from the right seat. But the real thrill came when Button took the wheel and demonstrated why Formula 1 pilots are the most skilled drivers on earth, taking me on a taxi ride that revealed what the Clubsports were truly capable of.

CrossHarbor has made extensive progress in renovating the facilities since the acquisition, including work toward bringing FIA certification to the biggest circuits. Completed hospitality suites, such as the Whale’s Tail lounge and the Streets Paddock House are beautifully executed spaces which embrace art deco and contemporary styles, respectively. However, the 700-acre grounds are ripe for quite a bit of further development. The current six circuits include the 2.5-mile Big Willow, the 1.8-mile Streets of Willow, the mile-long Horse Thief Mile, and off-road trails.

The CrossHarbor team appears cognizant of the weight of legacy with a track that has produced lifetimes of memories over its 72-year history. “Our goals and ambitions are straightforward,” Davis told a small group at a recent preview event. “They’re not to replace the legacies of Willow Springs. They’re to build on it and to improve what has made this place so special for generations of drivers.” Those changes include alterations to Big Willow over the next 18 months, including a new clubhouse, a new and expanded balcony, and a space dedicated to the Petersen Automotive Museum for a focus on historical race cars. Later phases will include fitness facilities, car storage, available residences for club members, and a hotel. Expect those changes to roll out over the next couple of years.

As the reimagined Willow Springs Raceway continues to take shape, the next chapter of both the historic location and the Singer Drivers Club aims to honor the reverence and joy for motorsports that put the storied testing grounds on the map in the first place. “People are joining not just for access,” explains Davis, “but because they genuinely value how they spend their time. They want to be present. They want to build relationships with people around those shared experiences. And it’s those moments that are going to give this place its meaning.”
