Brabus Just Unveiled Two High-Performance Luxury Powerboats
Brabus has created not one but two speed machines for the sea.
The German tuner, famous for building monstrously powerful G-Wagens, Lambos, and the like, has teamed up with Finnish builder Axopar Boats on a pair of high-performance powerboats.
The 38-footers, part of the new Shadow 38 range, share the same fundamental platform, design language, and highly versatile layout. The sleek exteriors are replete with carbon fiber, resulting in a bold, aggressive feel. The interiors are lighter and warmer in design, with premium marine upholstery adding a sense of luxury. Both vessels are equipped with the latest marine tech, with twin Simrad displays making captaining a cinch. They can also both be tailored to suit the owner’s lifestyle, with adaptable aft decks, optional activity platforms, and integrated wet bars allowing for both watersports and waterside entertaining.
What sets them apart is grunt. The two vessels have distinct power configurations that determine how they are used. At the top of the range is the Shadow 1000 XC Cross Cabin (469,500 euros, or roughly $547,000). Taking inspiration from bespoke Brabus supercars, the flagship delivers impressive speed, breathtaking acceleration, and precise handling. Equipped with twin Mercury Racing 500R V-8 outboards rated at 1,000 hp, the boat has a top speed of up to 60 knots, enabling the owner to zip around the coastline.

The Shadow 850 XC Cross Cabin (399,000 euros, or about $465,000) is more like a grand tourer, capable of both cruising at speed and covering long distances. Powered by twin Mercury Verado 425 V-10 outboards with a combined output of 850 hp, the runabout offers a top speed of up to 55 knots and smooth, dynamic handling in a variety of conditions. It can carry out long, relaxed journeys, spirited coastal runs, and everything in between.
“By offering two clearly differentiated power configurations on the same platform, the Shadow 38 expands the Brabus Marine range while giving customers greater freedom to select the driving character that best matches their individual boating style,” the German tuner said in a statement.
The Shadow 38 range officially debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival, with the Shadow 1000 XC Cross Cabin leading the debut. The boat will also be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show in late September.
