The Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Previews the Marque’s New Design Language

Alfa Romeo’s future is already looking stylish.

The Italian marque unveiled a new concept called the Cuorerosso this weekend in the lead-up to the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The head-turning grand tourer is meant to preview the brand’s new design language but also suggests that it still sees a place for the internal combustion engine going forward.

The first thing anyone will notice about the Cuorerosso is its sleek shape. The concept’s clean lines and smooth curves are features that have been missing from the brand’s most recent designs, outside of the ultra-exclusive 33 Stradale. We’re especially fond of the modernized grille, which features an illuminated depiction of the brand’s iconic cross and serpent logo, and the rear spoiler. It’s also a four-door, which is a little surprising. Its stance and shape ensure that it still looks like a sports car, though.

The concept comes equipped with suicide doors that open to reveal a surprisingly spacious cabin, which has plenty of room for not just the driver and front passenger, but anyone sitting in the back as well. Like the exterior, the interior features a clean, minimalist look that looks almost futuristic. It’s also refreshingly devoid of the huge touchscreens seen in so many of today’s vehicles.

Just as important as what you can see is what you cannot. That’s because a 2.9-liter V-6 lurks under the hood of the Cuorerosso. That mill is specifically the same one found in the high-performance Quadrifoglio variants of the Giulia sports sedan and Stelvio crossover SUV. There is one major difference between the powertrains, though. The concept’s engine—as the company has been hinting at for a couple of years now—will be hybrid assisted.

Alfa Romeo did not release an output figure or estimate for the Cuorerosso, but the presence of some electrical help suggests it’ll pack a punch. In the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the company’s six-cylinder makes up to 520 horses. Alfa Romeo’s press release also says that the car will feature all-wheel drive.

So, will the Cuorerosso make it to production? It seems unlikely, especially since Alfa Romeo’s press release only refers to its future design language, and not a specific model. Still, if the automaker’s next generation of vehicles looks anything like the concept, we imagine its fans will be quite happy. The first of its new crop of vehicles, which will likely be an SUV, is expected to make its debut next year.
