A Lexus LFA With 4,400 Miles Is Up for Grabs Right Now

Is there a supercar-shaped hole in your collection? Here’s your chance to buy one of the best in recent memory.
A white 2012 Lexus LFA is currently up for bid on Bring a Trailer. Any example of the gorgeous coupe that hits the market is noteworthy, but this one, despite being over a decade old, has only 4,400 miles on the odometer.
The LFA, to put it simply, is one of the great cars of the 21st century. The vehicle owes its existence to former-Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda to prove that his company was capable of building a sports car that could match up with the very best coming out of Europe. The resulting LFA pairs a beautiful, clean-lined design with a V-10 famed for emitting the “roar of an angel.” The car wasn’t fully appreciated at the time of its 2010 launch—perhaps due to bearing the Lexus name, as opposed to that of a traditional sports car maker—so only 500 examples were built during the two years it was in production. But now that enthusiasts have caught on to how special it is, the car has become quite the commodity.

Bring a Trailer
The carbon-fiber bodied LFA up for auction, chassis no. 205, is finished in white, a color that shows off the grace of Kengo Matsumoto’s design. It rides on a set of 20-inch double-spoke BBS alloy wheels that offer up a peak at its red Brembo brake calipers. The interior features are done up in black leather with red accents, and features power-adjustable seats and a 12-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
The LFA is a good-looking car, but its headline feature is its engine. The car is powered by a racing-derived, naturally aspirated 4.8-liter DOHC V-10. The mill is mated to a six-speed automated sequential gearbox and can produce up to 553 hp and 354 ft lbs of torque with a redline of 9,000 rpm. The car can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 203 mph, numbers this example should be capable of reaching since it has only 4,400 miles on the clock.

Just be warned that this LFA will likely come at a steep price. With seven days left to go — the auction runs until Wednesday, August 13 — bidding has already reached $800,000. Examples of the car that have been sold on Bring a Trailer regularly go for more than that, so don’t be surprised to see that number climb.
