Brabus’ Latest G-Wagen Is an 900 HP Pick-Up Truck
Brabus apparently wants to make sure that there is a high-performance Mercedes G-Wagen for everyone.
The German tuner has just unveiled its latest take on the iconic off-roader called the P900 Rocket Edition. This time around, the shop has turned the most powerful G-Class model, the AMG G63, into a genuine pick-up truck.
There are two major things that separate Brabus’s new modified G-Wagen from its last, the 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio: It has a fixed roof and an extended cargo bed. From the front, the two custom vehicles look identical thanks to their outrageous body kits, but when viewed from the side the differences are impossible to miss. Everything behind the C-pillar and above the beltline of the P900 Rocket Edition has been removed, leaving the vehicle with a truck bed. The new feature, which we imagine won’t be used to tote lumber or steel to a job site, is equipped with roll bars and lined with soft teak. Rounding things out is plenty of Brabus branding and a new set of 24-inch monoblock wheels with exposed carbon-fiber aeroblades.

Brabus has also given the interior a typically over-the-top makeover. No one would accuse the Mercedes of skimping on G-Wagen cabin niceties, but the tuner has made the space even more decadent. Nearly everything is covered in soft black leather and Alcantara with red contrast stitching and the seats feature the shop’s trademark shell-patterned inserts. Yet more Brabus branding is present, including illuminated B logos on the carbon-fiber rear entry panels. The vehicle also comes with a matching weekender bag you can throw in the back.
The shop has also gone to work under the hood. The AMG G63 is a true beast thanks to a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that makes 577 hp and 627 ft lbs of torque, but the P900 Rocket Edition is something else entirely. Brabus has bumped the mill displacement up to 4.5 liters and equipped with several other upgrades, which have boosted output to 900 hp and 922 ft lbs of torque. Thanks to all that grunt, the 4×4 can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, making it a half second quicker than the factory G63, and reach a top speed of 149 mph.

If your interest has been piqued by Brabus’s latest G-Wagen, you’ll want to reach out to them quickly about securing a build spot of your own. For now, at least, the shop plans to produce just 10 examples of the P900 Rocket Edition. Pricing has not been made public, but a seven-figure cost seems likely.
