Chappell Roan Announces Pop Up Shows in L.A., NY and Kansas City

Chappell Roan is giving fans a chance to see her live.
The singer announced a string of pop up shows, titled Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things, in Forest Hills, New York, Kansas City, Missouri and Pasadena. She kicks off the small leg with four shows at Forest Hills Stadium in September before performing two show’s at the Missouri-based Museum and Memorial Park. She’ll end at Pasadena’s Brookside at the Rose Bowl with two shows.
“I am so excited to bring Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things to New York, Kansas City and L.A.! I love these three cities so much and wanted the chance to do something special for them this year,” the singer said in a statement.
She added, “Since I started performing, I have always wanted my shows to be a party that everyone is invited to, and the only way to do that is to keep ticket prices affordable and away from scalpers. The Fair AXS ticketing process for these shows is one measure we are taking to ensure tickets end up in the hands of fans who actually want to be there.”
Roan said she will also be donating one dollar per ticket to organizations that provide resources and support for trans youth. “It is so important that I give back to the Trans community as they have given me so much throughout my entire career,” she said in a statement.
Roan has also been hinting at a new single coming soon. Through posters hung in New York City and what appeared to be a music video teaser from a fan base account, the pop star is teasing the release of her next single, “The Subway” Thursday. The 27-year-old has played the song at multiple festivals but has yet to release a studio version. Roan played it just last month at Primavera Sound.
The posters spotted around New York say, “Going through a break up? Get bangs!” with a picture of Roan. The video, which seemingly has a studio version of “The Subway,” shows a moving truck with a license plate “THE SBWY.” As the truck rolls down the road, the pop star’s signature red hair can be seen blowing in the wind as the truck passes a Saskatchewan welcome sign. The song’s lyrics in the preview say, “I made a promise / If in four months these feelings ain’t gone / Well, fuck this city / I’m moving to Saskatchewan.”
Ticket registration for the pop up shows opens July 24 and runs through July 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans will be selected randomly between Aug. 5 and Aug. 7 for a chance to buy up to four tickets. More details on ticket registration can be found on the AXS website and Roan’s website.
