Columbus Yachts Unveils the 125-Foot ‘Principessa Capricciosa’ in Full

Columbus Yachts is showing that small can be spectacular.

The Italian yard, one of four helmed by Palumbo Superyachts, has fully unveiled the most compact model in the five-strong Atlantique series. The 125-foot Principessa Capricciosa was launched in March, but the interiors have been kept under wraps until now.

With an interior volume of 299 GT, the Atlantique 38 strikes a balance between onboard comfort and operational efficiency. It offers what Columbus describes as “generous living spaces,” plus more range, lower operational costs, and a smaller carbon footprint than bigger vessels.

Designed by Milanese studio Hot Lab, the exterior nods to classic sailing yachts with clean, sporty lines running from the vertical bow across the aluminum hull and superstructure to the distinctive recessed stern. Hot Lab also penned the contemporary interiors, while the yard’s in-house team and Names by Francesco Rogantin executed naval architecture.

Heading onboard, the main deck is home to a lobby, a spacious salon, a fully equipped galley, and a full-beam owner’s suite with a walk-in wardrobe, gym, en suite, and private terrace. Every interior space is fitted with Bowers & Wilkins ceiling speakers managed by the Sonos ecosystem.

On the lower deck lie four guest cabins. Two are fitted with twin beds that turn into doubles, plus Pullmans. That means the yacht can sleep a total of 12 guests across five cabins. Each cabin showcases a unique colorway, custom finishes, and adjoining en suites with marble detailing. Elsewhere on the lower deck are four cabins for six crew.

At the opposite end, the upper deck features both indoor and outdoor dining areas, an alfresco lounge, a swimming pool with an integrated sun pad, and the wheelhouse. Higher still is a sundeck with a sunbathing area and a secondary helm station.

Back down below, the aft cockpit is equipped with two fold-down balconies, a large lounge, and a bespoke cocktail bar featuring mirrored finishes. Nearby, a dedicated garage starboard can hold a 16-foot tender, a personal watercraft, and other equipment. Another storage compartment that is tucked under the aft staircase stores Seabobs.

On the performance front, twin 2,000 hp MAN engines and a semi-planing hull together give the yacht a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 17.6 knots.

Principessa Capricciosa will debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in early September, after which she will head to the Monaco Yacht Show in late September.
