There’s more than one way for campers to scratch that retro trailer itch.

Happier Camper has just unveiled a new range-topping version of its throwback Traveler model called the Summit. The new variant features the same old-school charm that many have come to associate with the brand, along with more modern amenities than ever before.

When most people think of vintage trailers, the first name that leaps to mind is Airstream. But the brand’s trademark “silver bullet” aesthetic look isn’t for everyone (something which the company has shown it recognizes over the years). Happier Camper’s compact and lightweight trailers, on the other hand, forgo aluminum exteriors for a minimalist fiberglass shell available in a variety of head-turning (and sometimes two-tone) colorways. The single-axle Traveler Summit comes in five: Topanga Turquoise, Mojave Sage, Mammoth White, Venice Breeze, and Palm Springs Yellow.

Up until now, Happier Camper’s other primary selling point has been its use of Adaptive components. Models like the HC1, which has been a fixture of Robb Report’s Best Travel Trailers list, were designed with modularity in mind, allowing campers to customize the inside of their vehicle as they saw fit, packing the interior with the features and elements they want and nothing else. This is true of the Traveler, but the Summit, like the mid-range Adventure before it, adds some vital permanent components to the mix.

The Traveler Summit stretches just 17 feet end-to-end, but still has an interior with enough room for you and a couple of your loved ones to comfortably spend some time out on the road.  The flagship variant features Happier Camper’s most stocked kitchenette yet. While no one would mistake it for a professional-grade cooking area, it does feature a built-in stove, stainless steel sink, and a floor-to-ceiling console that holds a full-size fridge and microwave. The fixed bathroom, meanwhile, somehow has enough room for a shower, toilet, and storage.

There’s also a full-size bed and a convertible entertainment area that can be turned into a twin mattress should you need more sleeping area.  Everything aside from the kitchenette and bathroom is modular, too, allowing you to lay things out however you want.

Intrigued? Happier Camper is taking orders for the Traveler Summit now through its website, with production set to commence this fall. The trailer starts at $69,950, with a $500 deposit due at the time of ordering.
