Hargrave’s New Superyacht Blends American Artistry With Italian Style

Hargrave Custom Yachts has decided to combine upscale American craftsmanship with refined Italian design.
The Florida-based shipyard just unveiled a new 120-foot superyacht with exteriors and interiors by Italian designer Patrizio Facheris. (Coincidentally, the La Spezia-based yard Baglietto recently revealed a 183-foot superyacht with interiors by New York-based studio Meyer Davis, so cross-cultural collaborations go both ways.) Facheris and his eponymous studio are known for creating yachts at the forefront of modern marine design, making them a great choice for this particular endeavour.
The new model, part of the 120 series, showcases a sleek, contemporary silhouette, with elegant, flowing lines and a raised pilothouse, distinguishing it from the other, more traditional designs in Hargrave’s lineup.
“While most Hargrave yachts are crafted by our in-house design studio, this project is an example of how we occasionally collaborate with top external designers when clients request a unique aesthetic vision,” the yard said in a statement.

Built to Rina Pleasure standards, the newcomer is made from carbon-reinforced E-glass epoxy composite. The entire vessel is also finished with Awlgrip and IWC coatings, resulting in greater durability and longevity. The exterior decks are topped with hand-laid Burmese teak, but can also be covered with non-skid paint if the owner wishes.
With a beam of 25 feet, the yacht offers an interior volume of roughly 325 GT. The living quarters feature cabins for 12 guests and seven crew, as well as high-end entertainment systems by Concorde Marine, climate control by Cruise Air, and automated lighting by Lutron. The galley is also outfitted with Sub-Zero refrigerators and freezers to please any gourmands on board.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines capable of delivering 1,900 hp each, the 120-footer has a top speed of 21.5 knots and a cruising range of 945 nautical miles. It is also equipped with two Northern Lights 56kW generators, ensuring a reliable power supply.
Founded in the 1950s, Hargrave has become a major player in the mid-sized luxury yacht market over the past 20 years. The yard has an average of eight to 10 yachts under construction at one time, with six new models currently in development at the in-house Concept Studio. The superyacht division launched a 125-footer in Antalya, Turkey, earlier this year, but has not yet said when the first Facheris-designed 120-footer will hit the seas.
