Heesen Delivers Its New 180-Foot Superyacht, ‘Solemates’

Heesen’s latest superyacht has found its new home.
The 180-foot Solemates, formerly known as YN 20655, was just delivered on April 30, after it successfully completed sea trials in the North Sea. The newly christened vessel, the latest entry into Heesen’s 55-meter steel class, is a special one for its owner in more ways than one: The superyacht is the second Heesen created for the seasoned yachtsman.
And thanks to the owner’s experience on the seas, they knew exactly what they wanted their new vessel to look like. As a result, Solemates is a rather customized creation on the interior. The yachtsman worked closely with Silvia Margutti of Luca Dini Design and Architect, as well as Heesen’s in-house team, to add specific, personalized touches throughout the superyacht. That includes the bright colors dotted throughout, the redesigned main staircase—made of acrylic panels that show off gold flakes and crystals—and a large Jacuzzi perched on the sundeck, an ideal spot to entertain guests.
‘Solemates’ is topped by a large Jacuzzi on the sundeck.
Solemates can hold up to 12 guests and 13 crew onboard. Four passenger cabins can be found on the lower deck; the full-beam owner’s suite, with a private French balcony secluded from the other guests, calls the main deck home. The VIP suite, meanwhile, is located on the bridge deck.
Heading outside, Frank Laupman of Omega Architects has brought the sleek exterior to life; he recently revamped his work to bring a dose of contemporary design aboard. In addition to its strong profile, Solemates (which offers up 760 GT of volume) is also meant for extended cruising. To help out that mission, the yacht’s steel Fast Displacement hull works with two MTU4000 M63 engines to reach a top speed of 15.5 knots.
If you want to take a peek at Solemates for yourself, you’re in luck: The superyacht is set to make its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show this September. If last year’s launches were anything to go by, the new vessel will be in great company. For a few lucky passengers, the vessel will also be available for charter via Luxury Yacht Group, too. Happy cruising.
