Here’s Your Chance to Buy a Ridiculous McLaren Senna GTR

If you’re in the market for a supercar, chances are you’re not looking for something understated.
If this describes you, you’re in luck. A 2020 McLaren Senna GTR is currently up for grabs on a Bring a Trailer. It’s noteworthy when any example of the track-only beast hits the market, but this one is particularly head-turning thanks to its Solar Yellow and green finish.
The Senna was introduced in 2018 as the third of McLaren’s Ultimate Series cars. Named after the late F1 driver, Ayrton Senna, the 1-of-500 model paired a bold sculpted exterior with a potent twin-turbocharged V-8. Two years later, the marque unveiled a track-only version called the GTR, which featured a redesigned aero package that generates over 2,000 pounds of downforce, a revised suspension setup, and a dual-clutch race transmission that shifts through the gears even faster. It was also more exclusive than the base supercar, as McLaren announced plans to build just 75 examples of the model.

The Senna GTR up for auction is the 73rd from the production run. The original owner also opted for $75,000 worth of McLaren Special Operations options to make sure their car stood out. This includes its distinctive Solar Yellow finish, a vinyl livery made up of green streaks, and a bespoke electroform badge. The interior is a little more restrained, with the two-seat cabin done up mainly in black and exposed carbon fiber, though the six-point harnesses on the racing seats do feature bold yellow accents.
This example, like all Senna GTRs, has a Ricardo-built 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 sitting in the engine bay. The mill was tuned with track driving in mind, which bumps up output to 814 hp, or 25 hp more than its street-legal counterpart. That extra power, not to mention all the downforce created by its revised exterior, allows the to rocket from zero to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, which is three-tenths of a second faster than the standard Senna. Top speed, meanwhile, is 210 mph. This example has barely been driven—it has a reported 543 miles on the odometer—so those numbers should still be attainable.
