Host Nikki Glaser, Honoree Ted Danson Nominated

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser might have to take the podium for more than her emcee duties—as she is among the list of nominees for the 2025 Golden Globes.

The comedian is up for best performance in stand up-comedy on television for her HBO special Someday You’ll Die. She will be competing against other comedy heavyweights such as Jamie Foxx, Seth Meyers, Adam Sandler, Ali Wong and Ramy Youssef.

Glaser celebrated the news by sharing the list of nominees in her category on her Instagram Story and writing, “Hell yeah.”

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter last week, Glaser expressed how confident she is to tackle hosting the awards show. “I know what to do to make it great,” she said. “I know the amount of work that goes into it. I take it very seriously, the job at hand. I think I can strike the right tone of making fun of Hollywood while also just completely being sycophantic over it, and being like, ‘I want you to like me, but also what are we doing here?’”

Glaser added, “I just feel like my 21-year career has prepared me for this. I’ve done tough rooms. I can do this, and I just feel really ready.”

In addition to the host’s nomination, Ted Danson, who is being honored with the Carol Burnett Award for his outstanding contributions to television, is also among the list of nominees. The TV icon is competing in the best by an actor in a television comedy or musical for his role in the new, critically-acclaimed Netflix series A Man on the Inside. He’s facing other major names in the category: Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Jason Segel, Martin Short and Jeremy Allen White.

“Ted Danson has entertained audiences for decades with his iconic performances that will forever be ingrained in television history,” president of the Golden Globes Helen Hoehne, previously said in a statement. “His renowned career is a testament to his remarkable talent and versatility as an actor and bears resemblance to the award’s legendary namesake. It is an honor to present him with the 2025 Carol Burnett Award to celebrate the tremendous impact he has made and continues to make in television.”
