‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Reboot Lands Summer 2025 Release
The reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer is appropriately set to hit theaters in the dead of summer.
Sony Pictures announced Thursday that its new film with the same name as the original 1997 slasher flick is set for theatrical release domestically on July 18, 2025. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is directing the new movie from a script by Leah McKendrick. Neil Moritz produces the film.
Released Oct. 17, 1997, I Know What You Did Last Summer was based on the 1973 novel of the same name from author Lois Duncan and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. Focusing on a friend group stalked by a villain with a hook, the movie collected $72 million ($141 million today).
