ISA Yachts Unveils a New 220-Foot Flagship With a Striking Black Hull

ISA Yachts is going bigger—and perhaps bolder—than ever before.

The European shipyard, one of four owned by Palumbo Superyachts, just delivered the largest yacht in its quarter-century history. Christened Sea Raider X, the 220-footer is part of the popular Gran Turismo line and is predictably sexy. 

The Gran Turismo series, which was revamped in 2023, currently comprises six models ranging from roughly 108 to 262 feet. The high-performance superyachts all share the same sporty DNA, with sleek, automotive-inspired designs. The new flagship retains that signature style, but features a highly distinctive exterior by Vallicelli Design. Naval architecture was executed in-house.

The black-hued steel hull is topped by a silver aluminum superstructure, creating a striking chromatic contrast. The silhouette is also a beautiful juxtaposition, with long flowing lines punctuated by the sharp, geometric architecture of the transom and sundeck roof. A “frame” element runs from the wheelhouse roof to the aft bulwark on the main deck, adding a dynamic, aerodynamic feel.

The stylish interiors, brought to life by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, offer accommodation for up to 14 guests across seven cabins, plus 13 crew in eight cabins. The owner’s suite occupies pride of place forward on the main deck and spans the full beam, of course.

The exterior decks are arguably the best part. The entire aft area on the main deck has been reimagined, with a spacious lounge centered around a spectacular panoramic swimming pool of roughly 21 feet. Two fold-down side terraces add extra waterside real estate, while integrated stairs provide direct access to the swim platform and the beach club. The latter is equipped with a hammam, bar, and gym.

To top it off, the garage on the lower deck doubles as a storage spot for a 25-foot-plus tender and a full-beam entertainment area. Once the tender has been launched, the entire covered aft section can be turned into a lounge, effectively doubling the size of the beach club. 

In terms of power, the yacht is fitted with two MTU diesel engines that deliver a combined 6,092 hp for a top speed of 18.5 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.
