La Compagnie Starts Business-Class Flights Between N.Y. and Düsseldorf
Nipping across to one German metropolis is about to get a little easier.
La Compagnie is launching a direct business-class service between New York and Düsseldorf in spring 2027, becoming the first airline to offer a nonstop connection between the two cities. The boutique carrier will offer up to five weekly flights between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) aboard a new Airbus A321neo LR.
As with every aircraft in La Compagnie’s fleet, the A321neo is configured entirely in business class with just 76 seats in a two-two layout. Every seat converts into a fully flat bed, meaning you can catch some Zs across the eight-hour journey if needed. Other highlights include an innovative entertainment system, amenity kits featuring Beau Domaine skincare, and seasonal menus that are paired with French wines and Champagne.

Passengers will experience luxury from end to end, starting with access to La Compagnie’s private lounge in Terminal B at Newark and the DUS Sky Lounge in Pier C at Düsseldorf. Fliers will also enjoy complimentary gate-to-gate Wi-Fi and a generous baggage allowance.

The built-in entertainment system features a 15.6-inch touchscreen display.

The new service was launched in response to a demand for premium flights to the Rhine-Ruhr region. It is one of Europe’s most important economic centers and has strong ties to the U.S. In fact, 24,000 international companies are based in the state—1,700 of which are American. Düsseldorf itself is a business hub, with a diverse economy spanning several key industries. The city also offers art, architecture, shopping, and dining, making it appealing to leisure travelers.

To top it off, Düsseldorf airport is close to both the Netherlands and Belgium. That means it serves as a gateway not only to Rhineland’s historic towns, vineyards, and castles but also to neighboring regions and greater Europe.
“At the heart of one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions, with strong international businesses and longstanding ties to the United States, North Rhine-Westphalia is well suited to our unique all-business-class model,” La Compagnie president and CEO Christian Vernet said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming travelers from the region on board, while also offering our American clientele a new and convenient gateway to Germany.”
The amenity kits feature Beau Domaine skincare.

La Compagnie, which first hit the skies in 2014, has been expanding across the Atlantic over the past decade. The airline, which currently connects Newark with Paris Orly, Nice Côte d’Azur, and Milan Malpensa, recently extended the New York-to-Nice service into the winter season for the first time. It is also set to receive a third Airbus A321neo LR in 2027, followed by a fourth Airbus A321neo XLR in 2028. More routes are likely on the horizon, then.
Schedule details and tickets for the New York-to-Düsseldorf service are now available via the La Compagnie website, through the airline’s call center, and through travel agents.
