Mamie Laverock is ‘Doing Well’ After Being Placed on Life Support
When Calls the Heart star Mamie Laverock‘s family confirmed she is on the road to recovery after being placed on life support earlier this week.
In a new update shared on the GoFundMe page for the 19-year-old’s medical bills, Laverock’s parents Rob and Nicole wrote, “Mamie is out of her big surgeries and the doctors day she is doing well. It’s impossible for us to be happier. Thank you all for your support.”
As previously stated in the GoFundMe page, Laverock fell from a five-story walkway while under medical care at a Vancouver hospital. Her mother, Nicole, was able to “get there in time to save her life.” She had been under “intensive treatment” for two weeks, placed in a hospital in Winnipeg and was later transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, where her family is based. On May 26, she “was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony, from which she fell five stories,” said her parents, Rob and Nicole.
She sustained life-threatening injuries during her fall, requiring for her to undergo multiple extensive surgeries and be placed on life support.
Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s onscreen mother, Molly Sullivan, on When Calls the Heart, wrote on X (formerly Twitter),”I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie.” She also urged fans of the Hallmark Channel series to “please help,” as the young actress’ family “need all the support they can get to make it through this.”
Fellow When Calls the Heart co-star Erin Krakow also asked fans to contribute to the GoFund Me, writing on Instagram, “I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too. Link in bio.”
“We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our When Calls the Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time,” Hallmark Media previously said in a statement obtained by THR.
The Hallmark Channel has yet to comment on if Laverock is expected to return for season 12, which begins filming in July.
