Numarine just unleashed another go-anywhere cruiser onto the high seas.

The Turkish shipyard, known for building long-range explorers, launched the new flagship of the popular XP series at the end of last week. The model is known as the 40MXP, with the “MXP” standing for “Mediterranean Explorer.” The 128-footer reflects the Mediterranean lifestyle, with a layout focused on alfresco entertaining and connecting to the sea.

The 40MXP takes design cues from the smaller 37XP, but is larger and more luxurious. (There are currently eight models in the XP line, five smaller and two larger than the 40MXP.) Numarine has given the successor a bigger aft deck by using the extra eight feet of length and shifting the salon’s sliding doors slightly forward. The resulting space has been outfitted with a generous alfresco dining area, a swish bar, a plush lounge, and a glass-fronted pool. It is also fitted with a full-beam hydraulic swim platform that connects guests to the water and an awning that protects them from the elements.

As with the smaller explorers in the Numarine fleet, the 40MXP is a bluewater cruiser that can venture well beyond the Med. Showcasing a sleek and sturdy steel hull by naval architect Umberto Tagliavini, the yacht can power through the waves with ease and speed. Equipped with two 800 hp MAN engines, the vessel has a transatlantic range of 6,000 miles when traveling at eight knots. It can also hit 14 knots at full tilt or cruise at a more leisurely 12 knots. If that isn’t enough grunt, seafarers can also upgrade to twin 900 hp MANs.

Can Yalman designed both the interior and exterior of the 40MXP. The 500 GT interior offers both “space and luxury,” according to Numarine. There are a total of six guest suites, including a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck and two additional customizable cabins.

Like any good explorer, the 40MXP features a substantial tender deck that is capable of carrying a 30-foot tender and three full-size Jet Skis. It also has extra space for water toys. To top it off, there is a second glass-fronted pool on the upper deck.

“Preserving the same stylistic cues and DNA of all our models, the 40MXP retains our high-volume, low-maintenance, long-range ethos while offering a number of new design features that enhance the intimate connection with the sea that a yacht provides,” Numarine chairman Ömer Malaz said in a statement.

In addition to delivering the flagship, Numarine currently has several other 40MXPs under construction. The yard said it is set to deliver two units to their new owners later this year.
