Oyster Yachts Just Unveiled Its First Power Catamaran
Oyster Yachts is doubling down on multihulls.
The British yard, which entered the sailing catamaran segment in September with the debut of the Oyster C60 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, just unveiled its first bluewater power catamaran at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Developed in partnership with Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, the new Oyster P60 combines the space and stability of a multihull with the cruising capabilities of an offshore yacht.
“This is the first time we have brought Oyster’s bluewater philosophy to a purpose-designed luxury power catamaran,” Oyster Yachts CEO Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke said in a statement. “The P60 is for owners who want the freedom to undertake long powered passages and expeditions aboard a spacious, luxury catamaran imbued with the safety and engineering those ambitions demand.”

The P60 has a target range of up to 3,500 nautical miles at 8 knots and 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, meaning she could easily complete the longest passage in Oyster’s famous World Rally. (That is the 3,000-nautical-mile leg from the Galápagos to the Marquesas, for those unfamiliar with the 27,000-nautical-mile circumnavigation.) The cat, which measures just short of 64 feet, can cover those long distances thanks to her two slender hulls, twin engines, and two fuel tanks with a capacity of 1,585 gallons. It can also be fitted with rooftop solar panels and a lithium battery bank to increase autonomy and reduce emissions and noise.
Those onboard will be crossing oceans in comfort, as the P60 offers just over 1,302 square feet of living space across the flybridge, aft cockpit, salon, and forward cockpit. The open, light-filled salon sits at the center of the main deck, with the option to include a galley here on the lower deck. The lower deck also features an owner’s suite with private access to the aft deck and can also be outfitted with two or three guest cabins, plus the crew quarters. Refined materials, upscale furnishings, and high-quality finishes give the interior a superyacht-like quality.
Outside, the aft cockpit triples as an entertaining space, sunbathing spot, and watersports area, with an adjoining hydraulic platform that doubles as a swim platform and tender garage. At the very top is a flybridge with a single central helm, a bar, a lounge, a forward daybed, and a hardtop.
The P60 is designed to be operated by an owner couple, with or without crew. Oyster says the cat will strongly appeal to the U.S. market, where owners tend to focus on things like fully-equipped flybridges, water access, fishing, and effortless cruising.
