Pomellato’s Pom Pom Dot Channels Feel-Good Vibes

Arriving from Milan to spread joy this Spring is Pomellato’s Pom Pom Dot, a collection that draws its shape from the button. Pomellato revisits its iconic ‘button’ design heritage and reinterprets an iconic gold necklace from 1974 in a playful way – the Pom Pom Dot bracelet and necklace flips with two-sided gem colors for versatility. The button motif is a nod to a functional accessory and a talisman, with its soft round silhouette evoking a “modern-day emblem of connection and protection.”

Besides mother-of-pearl and diamonds, the new range also uses malachite. The hardstone derives its name from the ancient Greek ‘molochs lithos’ or mallow-green stone, as the color resembled that of the leaves of the mallow plant (Malva sylvestris). Malachite was at the height of fashion in the early 1800s, due in part to the era’s obsession with new geological discoveries. Today, it is recognized as an important gemstone and ornamental mineral, says the brand.

The Pom Pom Dot line consists of a pendant, bracelet, and stud earrings. Each pendant and bracelet has a ‘gold thread’ that runs through both sides of the button: one side of the ‘gold thread’ within the button is in sleek rose gold, while the other side is peppered with white diamonds. The jewels are offered in three variants. The first features green malachite on one side and mother-of-pearl on the other. The second features white diamonds on one side and mother-of-pearl on the other, while the third variant combines grey mother-of-pearl on one side and white mother-of-pearl on the other.
