Risa Heller Communications Opens Los Angeles Office.
Risa Heller Communications is expanding to Los Angeles.
The communications consultancy, which specializes in high-stakes and high-profile crisis, reputation and corporate communications matters, is bringing on Erika Masonhall to serve as managing director of the new office.
Masonhall was most recently with Netflix, where she led communications around content, marketing, and studio operations. She previously worked for Facebook and NBC News in New York, and served as press secretary for Senator Joe Lieberman, when he was representing the state of Connecticut as an independent.
By establishing an L.A. office, Heller hopes the firm will be better positioned to serve entertainment executives, studios, showrunners, and production companies.
Risa Heller Communications clients have included companies like Activision Blizzard, Madison Square Garden, and Airbnb, media outlets like Puck and The Texas Tribune, and people like former CNN president Jeff Zucker, through his exit from the company to the launch of his new venture RedBird IMI.
The company, which was founded in 2011 by Heller, also represents clients in academia, nonprofits, advocacy groups, philanthropy and live events.
