Rolls-Royce Unveils Bespoke Commissions for America’s 250th Birthday
It’s not just American automakers who are celebrating the U.S.’s big birthday.
Rolls-Royce unveiled a trio of bespoke vehicles earlier this week as its way of honoring the U.S. turning 250. Each of the unique builds is done up in a color—Bohemian Red, English White, and Iguazu Blue—inspired by the Stars and Stripes.
There’s no marque as British as Rolls-Royce, so it’s only fitting that the vehicles made their debut during a special event at the U.K. ambassador’s residence in Washington, D.C. The unveiling, which was attended by government and business leaders from the U.K. and U.S., was also the brand’s way of highlighting the special relationship between Rolls-Royce and the U.S.

The connection between the automaker and the country dates back more than 100 years. Early last century, Rolls-Royce even built cars for American customers out of a factory in Springfield, Mass., marking the only time the company has built vehicles outside of England. Today, North America is the company’s largest global market and more bespoke commissions are delivered to the U.S. than any other region. (The company opened up its New York Private Office in 2023 to help ease the process.)
The first of the commissions is a Cullinan finished in Bohemian Red, which, Rolls-Royce says, pays homage to the U.S.’s strength, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit. It’s followed by a Phantom done up in English White, which is meant to represent the founding ideals of America, timeless elegance, and its continued pursuit of excellence. Rounding out the trio is a Ghost clad in Iguazu Blue, which honors the innovation, optimism, and limitless horizon that define the U.S.’s character.

Like all of the company’s bespoke commissions, each member of the trio was handcrafted at Rolls-Royce’s home in Goodwood in West Sussex, England. The marque hasn’t announced how much any of the builds cost, though it is likely that their prices easily exceed the starting cost of each model. The Cullinan starts at around $440,000, the Phantom at $550,000, and the Ghost at $355,000.
Even in this era of endless customization options, no automaker is more is more closely associated with bespoke services than Rolls-Royce. This most patriotic of projects shows that the company isn’t just capable of crafting a unique vehicle for any individual, but also any occasion as well.
