The Manthey 911 GT3 RS Performance Kit Is Now Available in the U.S.

It just became that much easier for Americans to get even more out of the 992-generation 911 GTS RS.

Porsche has just announced that the highly anticipated Manthey’s performance package for the most hardcore version of the 911 is finally available in the U.S. The kit will help drivers start setting records at their next track day, but it won’t come cheap.

Manthey Racing, in which Porsche owns a majority stake, has been releasing upgrade kits for the marque’s road cars for the last decade. The firm’s packages have helped push the 718 and 911 to new heights, allowing them to set records at some of the world’s most challenging tracks, like Nürburgring and Silverstone.

The 992 GT3 RS package is no different. The kit takes what is already a pretty outrageous sports car and outfits it with an aggressive aero package that features a front lip spoiler, a whole array of fins, and an even larger rear wing that retains the standard version’s DRS functionality. These tweaks help increase downforce by 20 percent, adding around 2,200 pounds at 177 mph which is 300 pounds more before. The suspension has also been tuned to compensate—30 percent more spring rate up front, 15 percent more in the back—and equipped with new shock absorbers.

Combine a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that makes 518 hp and 343 ft lbs of torque and you end up with an even faster car. Neither Porsche or Manthey have tested the car out at the Nürburgring Nordschleife yet—at least not officially—but a similar package shaved four seconds off the standard GT3’s lap time, according to Road & Track. If this kit can give the GT3 RS, which has already circled the notorious track in 6:44:848 minutes, the same kind of boost it would make it one of the fastest production vehicles in “Green Hell” history.

That kind of performance comes at a cost. The Manthey package will set you back $116,160, which is a little higher than previously expected and more than double the $57,300 the firm’s GT3 kit. (It’s also just shy of $4,000 less than the cost of a brand-new 992.2 Carrera, which starts at $120,100.) Add this to the $241,300 the actual car costs and you’re looking at a total of $357,460 for the Manthey-equipped version of the variant. That’s a lot, of course, but there are plenty who won’t bat an eyelash at the cost.
