This New 128-Foot Explorer Yacht Has a Hydraulic Swim Platform for Simple Ocean Dips
Numarine has more explorer yachts in store for 2024.
The European builder just announced that the first 40MXP will be launched sometime this year. As with the smaller explorers in the fleet, the new model is designed for bluewater cruising but also caters to the Mediterranean lifestyle. In fact, “MXP” stands for Mediterranean explorer.
Spanning just shy of 40 meters (about 128 feet), the go-anywhere yacht showcases a sleek steel hull developed by Umberto Tagliavini and elegant exterior lines by Can Yalman. Equipped with two 800 hp MAN engines, the vessel offers a transatlantic range of 6,000 miles when traveling at eight knots. It can also hit 14 knots at full tilt or cruise at a more leisurely 12 knots.
With an interior volume of under 500 GT, the 40MXP offers plenty of space onboard, too. The interior, also penned by Can Yalman, features six spacious suites for up to 12 guests. Accommodation highlights include a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck and a swanky VIP on the lower deck.
The beach club sets this model apart from the rest of the fleet, though. It is equipped with a hydraulic swim platform that stretches across the entirety of the 26-foot beam, creating a seamless connection to the sea. (Hey, the Mediterranean lifestyle is all about being outdoors and active.) The 128-footer is also longer than five of the six other Numarine explorers. As such, the 40MXP has a larger aft deck with an alfresco dining area, bar, lounge, and a new pool with a glass transom.
Numarine also announced that three smaller explorers will be launched by the end of February, including one 37XP measuring 121 feet and two 26XPs spanning 85 feet each. In addition, the first 30XP will hit the seas this summer. The 100-footer is the first Numarine to be equipped with a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system designed to curb carbon emissions.
“After enjoying a truly bumper 2023 in terms of our sales, our whole team is looking forward to showcasing what we are capable of in 2024 and beyond, particularly through our unmatched expedition and explorer vessel such as the 30XP,” Numarine founder and chairman Ömer Malaz said in a statement.
It sounds like even more explorers are on the horizon, too. Numarine shared that it has already sold five hybrid 30XPs.
