This New 279-Foot Superyacht Idea Has a Jacuzzi That Waterfalls Into Its Swimming Pool
Mark Berryman Design has pulled out all the stops for one discerning seafarer.
The British studio has penned an amenity-packed superyacht concept for a client with a fleet of vessel ranging from 197 to 394 feet. The client, who has worked with the design on several projects over the years, wanted a mid-sized vessel that incorporated the things he loves. As a result, the new MBD-87 spans 279 feet from bow to stern and is full to the brim with lavish features.
The spacious interior offers space for up to 16 guests in total. Four large VIP suites and two twin cabins are located on the main deck, while a fifth VIP and the owner’s suite occupy pride of place on the upper deck. A clear outlier, the luxurious owner’s suite is equipped with an office, a bathroom, a dressing room, and a bedroom with panoramic views.
The MBD-87 is outfitted for entertaining, too. The upper deck features a large dining space aft and a sprawling open-plan salon forward, while the bridge deck has a casual dining area for up to 16. There are large pantries on each deck and a dumb waiter that passes through all the decks to ensure seamless service from the crew. There is also a plush cinema positioned on the lower deck.
Outside, meanwhile, a striking curved pool measuring 48 by 20 feet is the centerpiece of the main deck. One level up, the infinity Jacuzzi creates a multi-story waterfall that runs into the pool below. The upper deck is home to yet another Jacuzzi, while the foredeck sports a touch-and-go helipad. To top it off, the stern is fitted with a spacious swim platform that provides direct access to the ocean.
Mark Berryman Design told Robb Report that it is still in the concept phase, working on the general arrangement of the MBD-87 and nailing down the interior and exterior details. “The owner will want this developed so that he is completely happy with aesthetics and function before starting to talk to shipyards,” the studio explained.
The design team can’t yet share any information regarding the layout or any renders of the living quarters. If the interior is anything like the exterior, the owner is in for a treat, though.
