This One-Off Pagani Zonda Riviera Is up for Grabs and Could Fetch Millions
The Pagani Zonda is the last great ’90s supercar and one with a rich afterlife, with Pagani making multiple new versions years after its debut, modifying others, and generally squeezing all it could out of a model that remains revered and beloved for that sort of whimsy. A dealer in Germany is now offering the one-off Zonda Riviera for sale in a time when Zondas appear to be soaring in value—one just sold in December for $11 million.
That’s almost double what a Zonda was listed for just three years ago, and not long after the final Zonda—the 140th built—was unveiled last year in Monterey. The Zonda Riviera offered in Germany doesn’t have a price listed, but a reasonable guess is that it is also in the millions, and possibly even in the eight figures.
“The Zonda Riviera was initially built as the Zonda F and later returned to the company’s Italian factory to return in 2017 as the latest model in the long-running 760 series,” the sale’s listing says. “Modifications include new carbon fiber body panels, a special roof scoop, a huge carbon fiber rear wing, carbon fiber ducting and beautiful trim.”
Under the hood is a Mercedes-sourced, naturally aspirated V-12 making 602 horsepower, according to the listing, though some sources have it making 750 or 760 hp. Regardless, it’s probably pretty fast; the exhaust has also been tuned to be louder. This particular Zonda previously sold in 2019 for $5.5 million at an auction in Saudi Arabia, according to CarScoops.
The Zonda’s afterlife will likely continue, too, with rebuilds of existing models, as long as there is demand in the market. Recent listings, including this one, suggest that demand will remain strong. Zondas have somehow stayed relevant now for over a quarter-century, and at this point it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if they stayed relevant for another quarter-century more.
