This Vintage F1 Race Car and Lamborghini Countach Are up for Grabs
A 1990 Lotus F1 car powered by a Lamborghini V-12 engine is being sold alongside a right-hand-drive V-12 powered Countach in what could be someone’s ultimate two-car garage, though that someone might have to be a Lamborghini fan of epic proportions.
The cars are both painted in the yellow Camel livery that Lotus used from 1987 to 1990, in an era when cigarette company liveries were everywhere, and so were cigarettes. The Lotus F1 car and the Countach are photographed with a pack of Camel Filters in the online listing for extra authenticity.
The F1 car is a Lotus Type 102, the only Lotus F1 car ever powered by a V-12, and the 1985 Countach is the only right-hand drive Countach QV ever painted in yellow, according to Pistonheads. The Type 102 raced 37 times in Formula 1, finishing as high as eighth, and was piloted by three different drivers: Martin Donnelly, Derek Warwick, and Johnny Herbert.

Perhaps more significant to younger audiences, the Type 102 appeared in F1, a movie starring Brad Pitt that was in theaters last summer. The Type 102 was also restored by Polo Storico, Lamborghini’s in-house restoration shop, while the Countach looks pristine as well. The Camel livery on both cars is replaceable, but together, it just looks right, even on the road car.
The Type 102 maxed out at around 650 horsepower, while the Countach QV got up to 455 horsepower, both numbers that in their day were enviable, if not awe-inspiring. Both cars are manual, too. Pistonheads says the selling dealer can provide support for the Type 102 on track days, meaning there are no excuses not to give it some room to run. The Countach, meanwhile, was in storage for over a decade before a recent restoration and the new paint job.
The cars are being sold by Furlonger, which did not provide an estimate, though Countachs generally fetch around $500,000 or more, according to recent results on Bring A Trailer. The Type 102 could go for at least that, reckons Pistonheads, making it likely a seven-figure purchase if you want both. That’s just how much the perfect two-car garage might cost.
