Galeon’s New 700 Sky Yacht Might Convince You It’s a Superyacht

Galeon Yachts doesn’t believe superyacht status begins at 100 feet.

The shipyard’s 700 Sky, the latest example of the highly successful 73-foot model—and the ninth to be built by the Polish yard—features a new interior more commonly found on larger, more lavish vessels.

Galeon’s in-house design team collaborated with Hong Kong’s InSitu Design to create living quarters defined by sleek marbles, supple Italian leathers, warm woods, and rich textiles. The makeover puts the 700 Sky, the flagship of the sporty Skydeck line, on par with other recent Galeon launches, including the 520 Fly and 620 Fly.

“The market is really pulling us towards bigger boats and greater luxury, so we are actively expanding our ranges at the top end,” Marta Sledziewska, Galeon’s marketing and communications director, said in a statement. “Our owners demand more space and an ever-higher level of interior finish as they seek to create the ambiance of home on the water.”

The Mediterranean-inspired interior is available in five different colorways, or “moods,” ranging from pearl to amber and ivory. Each one creates a different ambiance on board. For this particular yacht, the experienced owner mixed and matched from different palettes to create a unique interior with an emphasis on natural tones such as beige, earth, and cream.

As with the decor, the layout can be tailored to the owner. The standard design includes a full-beam owner’s suite amidships, a VIP with en suite forward, and two guest cabins between the two. Those guest cabins can be built as doubles, twins, or a single with a Pullman bed that folds away to create space for a drop-down desk or vanity. This specific yacht features a single. Owners can also choose between a tender and toy garage behind the transom or a handy cabin for two crew.

The 700 Sky retains the same sporty spirit, of course, with a sleek, lightweight hull and a beastly powertrain ensuring exhilarating performance. Equipped with twin 1,200 hp MAN V-8 engines, the yacht has a top speed of 32 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots.

The 700 Sky isn’t the only fleet member getting attention, either. Galeon is working with InSitu on several new models. “Expect to see more news from us soon about bigger yachts,” adds Sledziewska.
