Hennessey’s Next Supercar Has Already Sold Out
You’re out of luck if you didn’t already secure your Hennessey Blackbird.
The Texas shop’s latest over-the-top vehicle has already sold out, according to the Supercar Blog. High-performance vehicles, especially those that are particularly exclusive, sell out all the time, but it’s still rare to see one disappear this fast.
News that all 71 examples of the Blackbird have already been spoken for comes a little over two weeks after the supercar was announced. The vehicle, which is just the company’s second clean-sheet creation, then made its public debut at the 2026 edition of the Quail, which was held last Friday in Monterey, California. The website reports that 60 of the units had already been allocated prior to the event, and that the remaining 11 were gone within four hours of the unveiling.

Supercars, especially those made by manufacturers like Hennessey, are designed to sell out. After all, these autos require a significant financial investment, and the last thing an automaker wants is to have units it can’t sell. Still, even the marque seems surprised by how positive the response to its new model has been.
“None of us expected such an overwhelmingly positive response,” the company’s founder and namesake, John Hennessey, told the website. “Selling out so fast is testament to the stunning design and our team’s appreciation of what makes hypercar ownership special.”

Of course, 71 units is not a large production run. But exclusivity is far from the only reason why the Blackbird has already sold out. The Venom F5’s successor, which is inspired by the Lockheed Martin SR-71 “Blackbird” spy plane, is unlike anything we’ve ever seen from the brand before thanks to drive dynamics grounded more in comfort than flat-out aggression. It features a sculptural exterior made primarily of carbon-fiber and a cabin that forgoes touchscreens in favor of analog controls; plus, it’s powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8. The car may be more civilized than its predecessors, but its mill is still expected to produce up to 900 hp and redline at 9,000 rpm. It will also be able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 220 mph.
Pricing for the Blackbird starts at $2.5 million, which clearly did not scare buyers away. Deliveries of the company’s next supercar are expected to begin between 2029 and 2030.
