A One-Off, Canadian Porsche 911 GT3 RS Is Up for Auction Right Now

If you’re looking for a car that’s an homage to our neighbor in the north, you’re in luck.

Porsche has teamed up with RM Sotheby’s to auction off a one-of-a-kind 911 GT3 RS with Weissach Package to celebrate the grand opening of the automaker’s new Experience Center in Toronto. Any example of the street-legal track beast is noteworthy, but this one comes finished in a unique maple leaf livery.

The 911 GT3 RS is the result of collaboration between Porsche Cars Canada and the automaker’s Sonderwunsch personalization division. Shown for the first time at last year’s Canada International Auto Show, it features a distinctive paint job, two-thirds of which is red, while the remaining third is white. The high-performance model already looks like a race car thanks to its sculpted body and giant rear wing, and the addition of contrasting maple leaf design and “GT3 RS” decals running along the bottom of both doors only adds to the package. The interior isn’t quite as bold, but the black leather seats do feature special red-and-white Pepita fabric inserts, along with red seatbelts and carbon-fiber trim.

The 992-generation GT3 RS is more than just a head-turning speed machine, though. The model is about as hardcore of a road-going 911 as you’re going to find. It’s powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirate flat-six that makes 518 hp and 342 ft lbs of torque. Combine all that oomph with lightweight construction and outrageous aero package and you have a car that can rocket from zero to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 184 mph.

Whomever wins the auction is set to walk away with more than just a powerful sports car. The lot also includes a matching bespoke Chronograph 911 GT3 RS timepiece and a 1:18 scale model of the vehicle. A portion of the gavel price will also be donated to Campfire Circle, an Ontario-based charity that tries to bring joy to children dealing with serious illnesses through in-hospital visits and overnight camp programming.

Bidding for the Canadian-themed 911 GT3 RS opened up last night and runs through Tuesday, July 1. And don’t worry if you don’t live up north. The auction house expects the car to sell for around $500,000. The auction is open to Americans, too; they’ll just have to convert the vehicle to U.S. spec before driving it on our roads.
