If American football fans were glued to the Super Bowl for the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, then fashion mavens were having a moment spotting all the street style on and off the field. Commanding presence among the sea of superstars at the Las Vegas arena were Taylor Swift and bestie Blake Lively, who styled their red jerseys with equally cool athleisure outfits. Half-time performer Usher, Post Malone, and Lady Gaga were also in attendance and brought their A-game when it came to fabulous Super Bowl fashion.

Jay-Z was seen alongside his daughters, Blue Ivy Carter and Rumi Carter, engaging in conversations with people and players on the sidelines during the game. Beyoncé — who announced a new album and two new songs titled “Texas Hold Em” and “16 Carriages” in an ad screened at the event — was later observed seated in a box looking glam in her beach blonde hair. Among the notable personalities in the stands were Queen Latifah, Gwen Stefani, Jared Leto, Luke Combs, LeBron James, Paul Rudd, Gordon Ramsay, Elon Musk, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jeff Goldblum, all enthusiastically supporting the teams.

Usher’s half-time show might’ve been the highlight event but the game was peppered with performances that struck a chord. Reba McEntire delivered a powerful rendition of the national anthem, while Post Malone enchanted the audience with “America the Beautiful,” and Andra Day moved the crowd with “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Prior to his halftime performance, Usher shared during a press conference last week that his set would blend elements from his successful Las Vegas residency. “I was very conscious of honouring my past, embracing my present here in Las Vegas, and contemplating the direction of our future,” remarked the singer.

Celebrities who served the best Super Bowl fashion moments

1. Taylor Swift

While Swifties were concerned whether Queen Mother Tay Tay would make her way to the game post her Tokyo show, the 34-year-old Grammy winner put all her chips on her private jet and arrived on location, right on time. Since the cameras were obviously going to be mapping her every move, Swift gave them an outfit that’d probably go down in NFL history.

Wearing a black crochet corset top by Dion Lee, slit denim pants with crystal embellishments by Area, and a Chiefs bomber jacket from Wear by Erin Andrews, Swift’s look was halfway between ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Blank Space’. Keeping in line with Super Bowl fashion, she even carried an 87 football-shaped purse by Judith Leiber.

2. Blake Lively

While her husband was busy prepping for the drop of the Deadpool 3 trailer, Blake Lively was raking in air time at the Super Bowl in her juicy red Adidas tracksuit. While the set has been around for decades, it’s the styling that pushed it to the top-tier category. With her hair was giving max curly girl vibes, the Gossip Girl actress slipped into a white crop top with chunky necklaces for that finishing touch. Lively even stacked on the bangles for the ultimate street style look.

3. Usher

Usher brought his trademark style to the Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, giving fans and fashion lovers something to unapologetically ogle at. His initial ensemble featured an all-cream Dolce & Gabbana outfit, which took the form of a coat layered over a brooch-lined cropped jacket. With a dramatic dance segment, he shed both layers to reveal a bedazzled top below. Just moments later, he ditched it all to showcase his sculpted abs, accentuated by a striking 9-carat diamond Jacquie Aiche pendant bearing his initial, before heading backstage for a quick costume change. Notably, he paid homage to Michael Jackson by removing one of his matching gloves.

For his next appearance, Usher emerged in a mesmerising ensemble by Off-White, shimmering in shades of blue and black. His attire comprised five distinct pieces, boasting a staggering total of 394,000 crystals. Among them was a crystallised anatomical letter biker jacket, a knitted turtleneck layered over a lurex sparkle undershirt, leather biker trousers, and gloves. Adding an unexpected twist to his performance, Usher performed in roller skates, further elevating the energy of his electrifying set.

4. The Carters

After turning up at the Grammys last weekend, Blue Ivy was once again the best-dressed kid around, this time joined by her six-year-old sister, Rumi. With dad Jay-Z pining for the duo while clicking court-side selfies, the two Carter kids ensured all eyes were fixed in their direction. Blue, 12, wore a varsity jacket, jeans, and sneakers for the event, while Rumi was effortlessly chic in a Givenchy leather top, skirt, black tights, and boots. Meanwhile, Jay-Z chose a statement NFL jacket styled with black sweatshirt, joggers, and a beanie.

5. The Biebers

If the Super Bowl 2024 was the runway, then the Biebers brought their most sartorially coherent look we’ve seen from them in a while. Hailey Bieber epitomised the mob wife aesthetic, dressed in a capaciously oversized faux fur coat with a white tank, denims, and red stilettos while Justin complimented her look ( finally!) in a silky Marine Serre button-down with jeans and a black cap worn backward. For once, their looks did not give dressed up girlfriend, low-effort boyfriend. Instead, the couple quashed divorce rumours by packing in the PDA on national television.

6. Lady Gaga

Any Super Bowl fashion list is incomplete without the mention of the iconic Gaga! The popstar arrived hand-in-hand with boyfriend Michael Polansky and took no steps to hide her support for the 49ers. Wearing an oversized jersey as a dress, Gaga styled the red ensemble with a black jersey jacket and her signature stiletto boots. What separated her from the rest of the celebrities in attendance was her elaborate, bejewelled eye makeup — a nod to her own Super Bowl performance in 2017.

7. Post Malone

The 28-year-old singer undoubtedly brought ’80s country singer vibes to the half-time show at the Super Bowl. His outfit of choice for the event included a white henley shirt, regular blue denims, and a brown velvet blazer. His tribal necklace and embellished guitar strap added the right dose of accessories to his otherwise-monotone outfit.

8. Alicia Keys

Joining Usher in his half-time performance was Grammy-winner Alicia Keys who belted out hits like “If I Ain’t Got You” while playing a red piano. A custom corseted Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit added to the visual appeal of the performance as the 42-year-old took the stage, a voluminous cape keeping her company as she sashayed alongside the ‘No Limit’ singer. If weathering a voice crack during her bit was hard, then keeping your eyes away from Keys’ shimmery outfit was 10x harder!
