The Kids Ball Attracts Help for the Effectively-being of the Younger

The WEMP Foundation (WEMP) and Naked Heart France came together on March 21, 2024 to host their inaugural collaborative charity event, the Children Ball, in support of children’s wellbeing, an often overlooked, and yet vitally important aspect that makes a lasting impact on the lives of children.

The city’s well-known figures in fashion, film and sports, turned up in a huge show of support for the meaningful initiative, including Hong Kong’s film industry power couple Carina Lau and Tony Leung, Korean actress Kong Hyo Jin, the fashionable Fan Bingbing and basketball legend Stephen Xavier Marbury. Other luminaries include Pansy Ho, a platinum sponsor, as well as Emmanuel Gintzburger, Princess Alia Al-Senussi, Danny Casale, Sabrina Ho, Yvette Yung, and more.

Adrian Cheng of The WEMP Foundation and Natalia Vodianova Arnault of Naked Heart France both gave heartfelt speeches on their commitment to the next generation and why, on a personal level, it was important to them to prioritise the mental well-being of children and co-host the Children Ball.

“We have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support we have received,” said Cheng. “The event provided a platform for our community to come together and demonstrate their commitment to the next generation. It has reinforced our belief in the power of collaboration. By joining forces, we can effect meaningful change and create a society that prioritises the mental well-being of our children.”

The night was enriched with a captivating piano duet by renowned pianist Michelle Kim, who champions emerging talent and underprivileged young people, and her protege Malcolm Mok, and a dramatic reading by Ron Szeto. Both are gifted, young, and neurodiverse performers.

But the highlight of the Children Ball came as a live auction, led by Jonathan Crockett of Phillips, that featured works by leading contemporary artists such as Danny Casale, Alicja Wade and Robert Nava, as well as once-in-a-lifetime experiences – all in the name of a charitable cause.

“The success of this event exemplifies the collective dedication to creating a brighter future for children. Through our collaboration, we have taken a significant step forward in addressing the implementation of best evidence-based support programmes and assisting our youngest generation. We are deeply grateful to all the donors, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible,” said Vodianova Arnault. “Together we became a positive force that will directly impact the lives of children and ensure they receive the support they need to realise their potential and thrive.”
