Exclusive Interview With Russian Plus Size Model Anastasia Kunova Living in Different Cities Around The World On a Mission To Persuade Ladies That They Are All Beautiful in Any Size & Form

Anastasia Kunova is a 22-year-old Russian model and woman empowerment activist who started her plus size modeling career accidentally by stumbling upon a casting for plus size models in Moscow on September 2020 . She had no experience in the modeling industry but decided to be brave and try something new for herself .  She told Lavish Life Magazine that she felt intimidated at first because there was hundreds of models at the casting trying to endeavor a new path in their lives , models with a lot of experience and many with no experience at all .  The casting judges informed all the models that according to the results , the selected winning models either will be offered a modeling contract or be rewarded by going to a modeling school. 

Anastasia Kunova caught all the judges attention , she quickly stood out because of her outstanding unique beauty and warm personality , she became one of the 10 lucky winning models being offered the second option of going to modeling school which she believed it was the best option for her to learn more about modeling but she didn’t accept the offer because it was during the coronavirus pandemic times . Many people told her that she was unique and should go back once again to plus size castings but Anastasia didn’t take it seriously , during that time she was focusing on getting her bachelor degree in linguistics from Plekhanov university of economics in Russia . 

Anastasia was born in Voronezh, a city located 500 km away from Moscow to the south with a population of one million people .  Her father owns a small business , her mom is a government employee and her only sister is a former flight attendant for Emirates airlines. Since her childhood she has been an active child , enjoying oriental dancing, sports, music schools and gymnastics .  During her kindergarten years she dreamed of growing up becoming a flight attendant like her sister , however in her high school years she decided to be a pharmacist or cosmetologist  , but surprisingly after her graduation from high school she discovered her love for learning different languages so she moved to Moscow and enrolled to be a linguist-translator attending the prestigious Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. 

In 2021 after she graduated successfully and was ready to explore her career options  , she began searching corporate jobs at first but luckily she didn’t stumble upon any job which interested her . On October 2021 once again Anastasia saw another casting announcement for plus size models , she believed it was a sign for her to take a chance and test her luck once again . This new casting was totally different , it was specifically for brands that were searching for models for their fashion products.  Anastasia won again at this casting being granted her first photoshoot offer from an underwear Russian exclusive brand designed for curvy and plus size women , this was the start of Anastasia’s modeling journey . 

Anastasia your story is extremely interesting , can you tell our readers what happened with the Russian underwear brand ? 

I didn’t really expect that they will choose me as their model but I enjoyed working with them , I also was fortunate to be approached by other Russian brands . Just want to say thank to all pf them for giving me a chance and the opportunity to grow as a model. 

Can you share with our Lavish Life readers how did you start your career in Dubai ? 

Thank you for asking , it was by coincidence ,  I decided to visit Dubai for a 10-day vacation because my sister lives there and it’s a beautiful destination , during my holidays I got my first contract with a Dubai based agency so I ended up staying for 2 months . 

Anastasia how did you feel after achieving your first international contract on your holidays ? 

I felt very happy and surprised that after working as a model for only 4 months in Russia I got a new contract in a foreign country , I saw it as a big success and blessing, couldn’t even dream about it .

Anastasia this is truly an inspirational story , tell us about the many companies you did e-commerce shootings for during your 2 months in Dubai ?

I worked only for e-commerce shootings for many well recognized companies in UAE such as Namshi, maxfashion, Redtag, Splash, SSS.  During these 2 months in Dubai I got a tremendous experience as a model , when I returned to Moscow, I managed to take part in Moscow Fashion Week. 

Anastasia this extremely impressive , what happened after Moscow Fashion Week ? 

I returned back to Dubai to continue focusing on my plus-size modeling career. The second time was bigger success , I did more e-commerce shootings and started my first campaigns for brands such as Splash, Max fashion and Kayfi.

Are your parents and family proud of your success ? 

At first, my parents did not take my choice seriously and advised me to find a “normal” office job but they supported me my decision to pursue a plus size modeling career . 

It was a pleasure interviewing you , any final words or advice ?

Finally , my advice is always find a career which you enjoy and love , I believe you must love what you do to achieve success in your business , also be ready to wake up at 6 am every morning even on holidays to achieve your dreams .
