McLaren’s 750S Supercar Will Be Discontinued in 2027

One of the most admired McLarens in recent memory is nearing the finish line.

The British marque has revealed the 750S, which has been a part of its lineup of supercars in some form for close to a decade now, will be discontinued next year—and it’s taking final orders for the model.

The 750S may have only arrived a few years ago, but its roots date back to 2017. That’s when McLaren’s 720S debuted. The marque’s second Super Series model combined lightweight construction with a potent twin-turbocharged V-8. The simple formula proved to be such a success that it gave birth to a track-only version, the 765LT, and, then in 2023, a successor, the 750S.

The 750S took everything great about the 720S and dialed it up to 11. The vehicle, which launched as part of McLaren 2024 model year lineup, offered up an even more sculpted body and had nearly a third of its parts swapped out for newer components. Thanks to these changes, the car tipped the scale at just 2,815 pounds, which was 60 pounds lighter than its predecessor, and packed an even more potent punch. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 makes 740 hp, which is 30 horses more than the 720S.

McLaren wasn’t about to let the 750S leave without fanfare. The final version of the vehicle is the 788HS, which was announced earlier this summer. The exclusive variant has a more aggressive aero package than the supercar it’s based on, weighs 16 pounds less, and makes 37 hp more. As a result, the car can sprint from zero to 60 mph in two seconds flat and reach a top speed of 205 mph. It will be limited to just 200 examples, half of which will be coupes, while the other half will be open-top spyders.

If you have a 750S-shaped hole in your car collection, now is the time to act. The automaker is taking final orders for the vehicle now, with pricing starting at $365,100. Its replacement is rumored to be entirely new supercar with a hybrid-assisted V-6 that makes over 800 hp that could be unveiled as soon as next year.
