This One-Off Pagani Zonda Unica Could Sell for $14 Million at Auction
Eager to add a Zonda to your stable? Here’s an upcoming car auction you’ll want to your eye on.
Next week, Broad Arrow Auction will take bids for the one-of-a-kind Pagani Zonda Unico during its Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d‘Este. And the head-turning hypercar, which the auction house calls a “singular commission,” comes with a massive V-12 mated to a manual transmission.
All Paganis are special and all one needs to do is look at the Zonda to see why. The model that helped launch former Lamborghini engineer Horacio Pagani’s eponymous marque made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999 and would only undergo minor changes before the final example rolled off the line 20 years later (though sporadic one-offs and rebuilds occasionally pop up). The hypercar, which combines a gorgeous exterior with a baroque interior and bespoke AMG-sourced 12-cylinder, is one of the best examples you’ll find of an automaker getting it right the first time.
2018 Pagani Zonda Unica

The Zonda Unica (not to be confused with last year’s Zonda Unico) is a one off from near the end of initial production. The 2018 example, chassis no. 76135, was commissioned by the founder of Spain’s Top Car Design and is done up in a blue-tinted, exposed carbon fiber. The finish, as well as the green, white, and red accents on the hood, side-view mirrors, and rear wing end caps, are all inspired by the look of the one-of-three Zonda Tricolore, but a gold graphics and wheels help distinguish the Zonda Unica. The interior, meanwhile, features all the physical controls you can imagine, and seats covered in blue leather with white quilted inserts.
The one-off, like all Zondas, isn’t just beautiful on the outside, though. It’s powered by a 7.3-liter AMG V-12 that makes 750 hp and 575 ft lbs of torque. That plentiful amount of grunt is routed to the rear axle via six-speed manual that Broad Arrow calls “rare and desirable.” The car has just 1,626 miles on it, some of which were totaled by none other than Pagani’s founder himself. It also, unsurprisingly, looks to have been very well maintained over the last eight years.
